Following the success of its first Scottish Craft Beer Festival, Lidl will re-introduce cus-tomers to the very best of Scottish brewing as it provides craft beer enthusiasts with a new offering of beers from Scotland’s finest microbreweries.

  • Supermarket launches second ‘Isle of Ale’ Scottish craft beer festival
  • Follows strong success of first collection in May 2017
  • Range to include 20 new Scottish craft beers
  • On sale from Thursday 21st September

The ‘Isle of Ale’ Scottish Craft Beer festival consists of 20 beers from 12 Scottish micro-breweries in a combined deal worth more than £120,000 and will be available in all 94 Lidl stores across Scotland from today, whilst stocks last. The line-up includes beers brewed across Scotland, from Orkney to the Borders, and includes fruity IPA’s, crisp pale ales and a selection of rich dark beers.

The Isle of Ale highlights Lidl’s ongoing commitment to support Scottish suppliers. Cur-rently, the supermarket stocks over 250 Scottish products and is set to increase this by a further 25% this year.

Paul McQuade, Head of Buying at Lidl in Scotland, said: “Following the success of our first Scottish craft beer festival, we are pleased to be able to offer our customers a brand new collection of craft beers, showcasing some of finest brewers in Scotland. Our expert buying team have selected beers across a wide range of styles and flavours and we are confident that there is something for everyone to enjoy.”

The launch comes after the supermarket held its first supplier open day event for Scottish suppliers last week, reinforcing its commitment to sourcing more products from local sup-pliers.

As Lidl continues to invest in its Scottish supplier base, the supermarket’s success shows no signs of slowing, with the latest Kantar Worldpanel results highlighting Lidl as the fastest growing supermarket with continued sales growth of 19.2% year on year and mar-ket share high of 5.3%.
